Configure site email with the WP Mail SMTP plugin.

Before you begin, verify a sending domain and create an [API key](https://usesendy.com/docs/authentication). This guide uses the WP Mail SMTP plugin to connect WordPress site email to Sendy.

## Configure WP Mail SMTP

1. In your WordPress dashboard, open **Plugins / Add New Plugin** and install and activate **WP Mail SMTP**.
2. Open **WP Mail SMTP / Settings** and select **Other SMTP**.
3. Enter the connection settings listed here, then save your settings.

Your full Sendy API key

Replace the sender with an address on your verified domain and the name with your site’s name. Use your full API key, including the `snd_key_` prefix, as the SMTP password.

Enable **Force From Email** if other plugins use unverified sender addresses. Enable **Force From Name** to keep your site’s sender name consistent. See [WP Mail SMTP’s Other SMTP guide](https://wpmailsmtp.com/docs/how-to-set-up-the-other-smtp-mailer-in-wp-mail-smtp/).

## Send a test email

1. Open **WP Mail SMTP / Tools / Email Test**.
2. Enter your test recipient in **Send To** and enable **HTML** for an HTML test.
3. Select **Send Email** and check the result.

## Check the result

Open [Emails](https://usesendy.com/emails) in Sendy to confirm the test was queued and follow its status. The plugin’s success message confirms SMTP submission, not inbox delivery. WordPress notifications and plugins that use its mail function share this transport.
